The representative office of the state development Bank of China (CSDB) was opened at the site of the international financial center “Astana”, reports MIA “Kazinform”.

“As a financial institution of the Chinese Government, the Bank has always paid special attention to Kazakhstan as one of the most important countries of international cooperation. In 2005 CSDB officially sent to the Kazakhstan working group, and in 2006, the CSDB has provided financial support for the first independently designed the project of a large hydroelectric plant — the Moinak hydroelectric power station, opening the curtain of bilateral cooperation”, — said during the opening ceremony, Vice-President of the State development Bank of China, Liu Jing.

He also said that for 13 years, the Bank with the support of the Government of Kazakhstan and the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan has built a “deep friendly interaction” with the Ministry of investment and development of Kazakhstan, the national welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna”, the development Bank of Kazakhstan, the company “Kazminerals”, as well as other government agencies, financial organizations and enterprises.

“For the period until the end of June this year, the Bank has provided financial support to 32 projects in Kazakhstan. The loan liability amounted to USD 33.5 billion. Contracts worth $ 28 billion were signed, ” Liu Jing added.

In turn, the Manager of the international financial center “Astana” Kairat Kelimbetov noted that the Bank is the world’s largest financial development institution.
