Kazakhstan took part in the international tourism exhibition China International Travel Mart 2018 in Shanghai. More than 100 000 people visited the exhibition with 521 exhibitors from 71 countries.
According to statistics, China is the leading country in the world in terms of tourist spending and the leading market for outbound tourism. 5 the most attractive places for the Chinese are countries such as Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Korea and Japan. Kazakhstan ranks 40th in the list of destinations for tourists from China. Despite the fact that China is a neighboring country, the Chinese travel more to other countries in the region. For example, Chinese tourists actively visit Mongolia, and their share in inbound tourism in Mongolia is on average 52%.
Given the fact that the main contingent of the exhibition in Shanghai are Chinese companies, it is a good chance for Kazakhstan to declare itself as an interesting and new tourist destination. The promotion of ecotourism with elements of ethno-cultural features of our country is proposed as the main idea of Kazakhstan’s stand.
The stand of the country is photozone: furniture of the Yurt and the gorgeous scenery of the natural places of Kazakhstan, as the Singing Dunes, lakes Kaindy, mountains, etc. Guests were welcomed by Kazakh batyrs in the full regalia of medieval soldiers. Thus, the exhibition fully implemented the concept of ” 4E ” (Events, Entertainment. Eco. Ethno), in which ecotourism, along with the event activities, ethno-tourism and leisure tourism are the basis for national tourism products.
The delegation of Kazakhstan headed by representatives of the National company “Kazakh Tourism” was represented by seven domestic tour operators: Abdi Travel, Explore Central Asia, Intertourasia, QTrip, Uni tour, SkyWay Travel, Triumph Travel.
“China today is a leading market-supplier of tourists around the world and one of the priority target markets for Kazakhstan’s tourism. This is our second exhibition in this country this year. This year we also held a road show in Beijing and invited Chinese bloggers-millionaires to Kazakhstan. In addition, it is planned to conduct an info-tour for tour operators specializing in winter recreation and ski tourism. Interest in Kazakhstan is stable and continues to grow.
