Under the guidance of the world-famous Polish traveler Jacek Palkiewicz, the international expedition “New Great Silk Road 2018” starts in the spring.

Kazakhstan will become a part of this expedition. The traveler plans to overcome more than 10 thousand kilometers on the territory of 7 countries: China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Belarus and Poland. Only in our country alone the expedition will visit 33 unique tourist sites, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

His snug home in the center of Warsaw reminds the museum, and his name became synonymous with the adventures. In Europe, Polish traveler Jacek Palkiewicz is called “the man of the world”. He crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a small boat, the Sahara desert – on camels, the frosty Yakutia – on reindeer sled. Basing on his own rich professional experience, he created the first “School of Survival” in Europe. In the end of his brilliant career, Jacek Palkiewicz decided to implement the project “The New Great Silk Road”.

  • The project “Silk Road 2018” is an adventure, the biggest adventure in my life. Let’s say that this is the final approach to everything that was in the past. I want to revive the legendary path of Marco Polo and anything related to this is a great topic. We work with Kazakh Tourism. We work over the program; it covers 12 days on the territory of Kazakhstan. There is a lot of work, an extensive work.

He has been travelling for 40 years. During this time, the reporter and researcher in one wrote 30 interesting books. Astana has the image of “small Dubai”, therefore this expedition will attract the flow of European tourists to Kazakhstan, the traveler says.

  • If you look at what has been done in 10 years, for example, when I was in Europe and said “Astana, I’m going to Astana,” everyone wondered: “Astana? What is it? Where is it?” Today, Europe already knows not only where Astana is, but more. Europe knows that Kazakhstan is a center of Asia. And that means leadership. Leadership in that area. These days the city is impressive, I was there 2-3 years ago, and that was the first visit after 20 years. I was in the centre of the city and that day I was tired, since I spent all night in the plane, so I looked around and just wondered “Where am I? Is it Dubai, or not? But that was November and temperature was minus 40 degrees Celsius. I realized that I was not in Dubai, but in Astana. However, the capital has the atmosphere of Dubai.

The international expedition “New Great Silk Way 2018” under the direction of Jacek Palkiewicz starts in the spring. The traveler plans to overcome more than 10 thousand kilometers on the territory of 7 countries. The starting point will be Chinese Xi’an, and after 2 months the route will end in Warsaw.
