According to the information portal “Techcult” a new architectural object, which is currently being built in the largest Chinese city of Chongqing, is informally called the “sky bridge” or “lying skyscraper”. This is separate construction with its own name “Conservatory” which rests on four buildings-support and docked with two more giant towers. They are eight in the project.

The developer is CapitaLand, which, through the example of the Conservatory, implements the concept of LEED Gold “environmental” buildings. They have autonomous energy-saving heating, ventilation, irrigation and sewage systems and are built from recycled materials.

The length of the cylinder of the Conservatory is 300 m, it will be mounted at a height of 250 m, with additional support for two parallel 350-meter towers. All objects in this ensemble are residential, multifunctional, they will offices, shopping centers, apartments, viewing platforms, winter gardens, concert halls, etc. In the Conservatory itself will be a vast green area with ponds and plants.

The basis of the horizontal skyscraper is a steel frame weighing 12,000 tons, on which will fix 3,200 pieces of glass and 4,800 aluminum panels. The bulky design of the plan was divided into nine segments, which with the help of cable jacks in turn will raise to the top. The process is very fast and the steel frame will be fully assembled by mid-2018, and the architecture marvel will open to the public in 2019.
